Rob Thomas Rescues New Pup From "Dead Dog Beach"
Rob Thomas fans know that next to his wife and his music, what the singer loves the most are pets, specifically dogs. Rob used Twitter to announce that he'd adopted a new dog named Oliver, saying, "He was a rescue from Puerto Rico. He was on Dead Dog Beach and had a horrible life, but that all ends now!" Dead Dog Beach is a strip of land in Yabucoa, Puerto Rico where people dump their unwanted, sick or injured pets and leave them to die -- or worse. Rob wrote on Twitter, "It's a place where people go to kill dogs for fun. Sad but true."
Rob also posted a photo of his new dog on Twitter. Oliver will join Rob's other dog, Sammy, in the Thomas household. Last year, Rob's beloved dog Tyler, who was adopted from Pets Alive, the same place where Rob got Oliver, passed away.
