Train Headlining Tour Pulls Into First Stop Tonight
Train are on a career high thanks to their surprise hit "Hey Soul Sister," and Thursday night in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, they'll bring that song and more to their fans as they kick off a big headlining tour in support of their current CD, Save Me San Francisco. The band did a brief tour with Uncle Kracker late last year but this one is more extensive.
Train guitarist Jimmy Stafford says that their fans seem eager for the group to play the new stuff, but of course, they'll play all the hits as wellwhich at this point, they've got plenty of. Jimmy says, "We've got a really nice show right now 'cause we've got five albums to pull from now and it's nice to mix it up every night." The fans may also notice that the group is extremely happy to even be on tour, since this album marks Train's reunion after a three-year hiatus. Drummer Scott Underwood says, "Just playing together feels really great. I think we're playing better than we've ever played and it does feel good to be back together and play our show, and it does feel fresh."
Train frontman Pat Monahan plans an extra-curricular outing during this tour. He recently tweeted that he's going to sing at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony in New York City on March 15th, performing a song by inductees The Hollies.
